I am a creative visionary, with excellent communication skills and the passion to carry this action forward, but the fact is that there are many things that I am simply not equipped to do, if for no other reason than I am inherently disorganized and probably spend too much of my time with my head in the clouds. If this action is to be successful, if it is to become something that will take us forward, rather than end in humiliating, lonely failure, I will need the support of the broader Entheogenic community and those who support both religious freedom and drug law reform around the world.
There are many areas with which I could use assistance. Medical, campaign design, accounting, legal advice, public relations, media, promotions, proof readering web design (you're here, you know what I mean…), puppy support, fund raising, leaflet distribution, art and design and god only knows what else that I’m not even aware of. I simply can’t do it all by myself and there isn’t a lot of time in which to do it.
I am looking to put together a team of motivated people, who share my determination to take a stand and make a difference in their lives. It may not be something that you’ll be able to put on your resume, but this is about standing up for your freedoms and making it clear in no uncertain terms that you are no longer prepared to be deemed a “druggie” simply because of your spiritual beliefs and practices.
Even those who are not able to assist directly can do so in other ways. If you haven’t already, then enroll to vote as soon as possible, because politicians don’t care about the views of people who don’t care to vote. Write to Premier Ted Baillieu’s office, as well as your local members of parliament and make it clear that you support of regulated access to Transcendent Compounds for religious and spiritual purposes. There is no need to admit that you use these compounds yourself (particularly if you live outside Victoria). Express your outrage that the issue has been ignored to the point where a hunger strike is necessary. If enough people take this step immediately, there is a (very slim) possibility that we will be able to achieve our aims without this action being necessary.
My team and I will need your financial support. I am not currently working and once I begin the action, I will not be able to access the dole. Not only will I need money to pay my rent and bills, but I would also like to be able to produce posters, leaflets and brochures. I would also like to be able to book some town hall meetings, so that I can get my message into a wider audience. Greater funding would allow radio and perhaps billboard advertising, which would spread the message to a much wider audience.
I intend to set up completely open accounts, where all money is accounted for and anyone can see what has been received and what has been spent by the simple virtue of visiting a website where everything will be listed as soon as practically possible.
It would be nice to be able to go into this action with a well funded support team behind me. I think that most would agree that doing so will make it much more likely that we are successful in achieving our aims.
